Achieve Your Fitness Goals with These Proven Strategies




Embarking on a fitness journey can be both exciting and overwhelming. Here at Lsd Fitness, we’ve noticed what works best for our clients—and what doesn’t. Here’s something that surprises many of our coaching clients when they start our programs: we don’t start off talking about food or making big changes right away.


Start Small for Big Results


Instead, we encourage you to do one of two tasks as your daily practice:


1. Make Time: Schedule time in your day to focus on your fitness journey. This could include reading about fitness, doing a small daily workout, or planning your meals. Committing to this time is a commitment to yourself and your goals.

2. Take a 5-Minute Action: Do a small, five-minute action that moves you toward your fitness goals. This could be something as simple as stretching, preparing a healthy snack, or doing a quick exercise.


These small, manageable tasks are the foundation of making significant changes.


Make Time for Yourself


Making time is essential. If you don’t make time for your goals, other demands will fill up your schedule. There will always be something else that comes up, and there’s never a “perfect time” to start. By committing to a small daily action, you begin to prioritize your health and fitness.


Beat Procrastination


Taking a 5-minute action helps you overcome inertia and beat procrastination. Often, action comes before motivation. All you need to do is push through the first few minutes of resistance, and soon you’ll find yourself rolling.


Set Realistic Expectations


A 5-minute action might sound small. And it is. But setting reasonable and realistic expectations is crucial. You might be busy juggling other demands, working long hours, or caring for family. That’s OK. You don’t have to put in a “perfect” effort. Even a 10% effort can get results.


Embrace a Beginner’s Mindset


We encourage you to think like a beginner, regardless of how much experience you have. Showing up with an open mind will help you:

- Learn more effectively and quickly

- Connect better with your coaches and peers

- See opportunities, solutions, and possibilities more readily

- Feel calm and comfortable, even in challenging situations

- Accurately assess your progress


Create a Supportive Environment


Make your environment support your fitness goals. How can you make it easier to make the right choices and harder to make the wrong ones? This might involve keeping your workout gear ready, setting up a dedicated workout space, or talking to your family about supporting your fitness journey.


Focus on Single-Tasking


Research shows that we perform better when we focus on one task at a time. Eliminate distractions and dedicate specific times for your fitness activities. This focus will help you get more out of each session.


Adopt a Growth Mindset


Just like any learning process, your fitness journey will have ups and downs. You might get off track, feel confused, or have setbacks. This is normal. Treat these situations as feedback that provides valuable information about what to do next, rather than as failures.


Focus on the Process


To achieve your fitness goals, focus on the process rather than just the outcome. Set exciting and inspiring goals, but also know how you’re going to get there:

- To reach your goals, build specific skills.

- To build those skills, practice regularly.

- To make those practices manageable, break them down into small actions.


Find What Works for You


Each person’s fitness journey is unique. Explore different ways to help yourself stay on track. For instance, you can:

- Track your progress in a journal

- Share your goals with a workout buddy

- Visualize your progress with mind maps or charts


Keep Moving Forward


Remember, sometimes all it takes to keep moving forward is 5 minutes a day. By consistently making small, manageable changes, you’ll build momentum and make significant progress toward your fitness goals.
